Arash launched his latest album, With Closed Eyes, at Toronto’s Jazz Bistro in a solo piano concert before a packed house. The new release marks his transition from the more traditional Persian folk music of his previous albums to more contemporary New Age music, reflected in this exciting collection of his own haunting piano solo compositions.
Despite the concert’s uninterrupted two hours, no one in the audience left their seats. Although the bistro is also a dining environment, people immediately ceased chatting and respectfully put down their cutlery when the concert began. They remained quietly enchanted for the full duration. Such is the power of Arash’s dynamic music.
